My Top 50 - 08/27/2017

August 27, 2017 | 50 songs

Dua Lipa gets sixth week at #1 with "New Rules", Taylor Swift debuts at #3.

Earning a sixth week at #1, Dua Lipa's "New Rules" extends it's reign as the longest running chart-topper of the year. Another track from her debut album reaches a new peak this week, "Hotter Than Hell", which moves to #18 on it's 23rd week charting.

Charlie Puth moves to #2 with "Attention", which matches "We Don't Talk Anymore", his collaboration with Selena Gomez, as his highest peaking song on the chart.

Both songs better enjoy the view this week because Taylor Swift is almost guaranteed to get the top spot next week, as her first single from Reputation debuts at #3 after a single day worth of points. The track, "Look What You Made Me Do", would have taken the #1 spot with another day, as the difference between it and "New Rules" was less than 10%.

Two former #1 hits follow, as "Wild Thoughts" descends one to #4 and "Feels" finally leaves the top two, down three to #5. Aside from it's debut below top 40, "Feels" had spent all of it's chart-life at either #2 (for seven non-consecutive weeks) or at #1 (for two weeks).

French Montana follows with his Swae Lee assisted "Unforgettable" at #6. It has managed to peak at #3. Last week's new entry to the top 10 "Feel It Still" by Portugal. The Man, moves three to #7. Rihanna drops two to #8 with ANTI track, "Desperado".

"Fetish" by Selena Gomez and Gucci Mane returns to it's peak position of #9, in part due to a Galantis-produced remix. The top 10 is closed this week by Liam Payne and Quavo with "Strip That Down", which has peaked at #7 so far.

Below top 10, Rita Ora gets Greatest Gainer honors with "Your Song", which jumps to #15 on it's third week. Little Mix's new remix of CNCO's "Reggaetón Lento" debuts at #22, the week's highest non-Taylor Swift debut, above Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato's "No Promises" (#33) and Justin Bieber and Bloodpop's "Friends" (#36).
